Remote Desktop Information

There is a nice article on the Microsoft site all about Remote Desktop and its many uses. I use this technology all the time for connecting to computers I have in different parts of my house. It might be lazy, but it is nice to sit in the family room and use RDP to connect to a Windows XP Pro computer in my office to check my schedule.

RERUN: Get A Password Manager Heads Up

I have been looking into the technology that Citrix licensed for their Password Manager product. This promises to be the holy grail for single sign-on so I went to the Passlogix site for more in-depth information while Citrix puts the finishing touches on their version.

Citrix Product Lifecycle Matrix

Ever wonder when VideoFrame died (people do ask this from time to time)? Citrix has a nice lifecycle chart that outlines when old products died and when current products will.

RERUN: A Great Book!

cover

I am always a little leery of a book with the word Hack in the title, but this one delivers. It probably should have been called Google Power Tips, but that is not as exciting as putting HACK in the title. I am a Google fiend and found at least 20 new things that I did not know about Google and use all the time. This book is for anyone that wants to get the most out the best search engine on the planet.

Millions Going Solo With Cell Phones

It does not surprise me that Millions Are Going Solo With Cell Phones. I personally have three friends that have done it, but I just can't give up that cord just yet. What would happen if my Cable Modem went down and I needed a dial-up connection? I shudder to even think about it.

Internet Explorer Dominates Web

There is no doubt in my mind that IE's Domination of Web Grows. My server stats tell me that 79% of you use IE6, 14% still use IE5 and 4.8% use Netscape 7. I personally use IE6 with a mix of Mozilla just to see what features Microsoft should include, but don't.

Paul Thurrott's SuperSite has a great preview of the new features coming our way in Outlook 2003. I personally live in Outlook all day and welcome any new features that will make it more powerful.
